Internationally acclaimed American conductor Leonard Slatkin appeared with the Lone Star Wind Orchestra in rehearsal on Sunday, April 3rd from 5-6:30pm at the Murchison Performing Arts Center on the campus of the University of North Texas in Denton, working on one of the crown jewels of the wind band repertoire, Gustav Holst’s Second Suite in F. Following the rehearsal, LSWO Music Director Eugene Migliaro Corporon spoke with Maestro Slatkin from the stage on a variety of topics including the future for musicians in 21st century professional ensembles.
