Seth Wollam (Fall 2012-present) is a passionate, dedicated musician, educator, and advocate. Recognized in Who’s Who among American Teachers, Wollam has diverse experiences teaching and conducting students and adults of all levels. He holds the Bachelor of Music degree in music education from Youngstown State University and Master of Arts from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Currently a doctoral conducting associate at the University of North Texas, he is a student of Eugene Migliaro Corporon. At the University of North Texas, he serves as the associate conductor of the brass band, has guest conducted the wind symphony, symphonic band, concert bands, and is a staff member with the Green Brigade Marching Band. Wollam has also studied conducting with Dennis Fisher, Nicholas Williams, Jack Stamp, Jason Worzbyt, Stephen Gage, John Venesky, H. Robert Reynolds, Ray Cramer, James Jordan, and Alfred Watkins.

The assistant conductor of the Dallas-based Lone Star Wind Orchestra, Seth Wollam has also been the co-music director of the Grand Junction Centennial Band, and guest conducted numerous groups including the Filarmonica Uniao Taveirense, Taveiro, Portugal. He is a contributing research associate to the Teaching Music Through Performance in Band series. In the summer of 2012, he was invited to present a paper titled “A Comparitive Analysis of the Influences of Popular American Culture on Contemporary Wind Band Literture” at the 2012 Biennial IGEB conference hosted at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. As a school band director, Wollam’s groups regularly received high ratings at local, state, and national festivals, including the Colorado Bandmasters Association state concert band and marching band festivals, TIA indoor percussion tournament, Ft. Lewis Jazz Festival, Greeley Jazz Festival, Cherry Blossom Festival and numerous live radio performances on Grand Junction’s KAFM. Numerous students have gone on to study music professionally at universities including the University of Northern Colorado, Colorado University, Colorado State University, Colorado Mountain University, Western State College, The University of Wyoming, The University of Hawaii, Oberlin Conservatory, Berklee School of Music, and the University of North Texas. He has been a featured soloist with the Grand Junction Centennial Band and has also performed with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, Keystone Wind Ensemble, Western Colorado Jazz Orchestra, and Trinity Jazz Orchestra. Wollam holds memberships in the Texas Music Educators Association, National Band Association, the World Association of Symphonic Bands, The International Society for the Investigation and Promotion of Wind Music, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
