The Lone Star Wind Orchestra (LSWO) is one of the premier wind bands in the United States. The LSWO completed its first professionally recorded CD, “American Tapestry,” in April 2008 which is being distributed nationally by the Naxos record label under the Wind Band Classics series. The LSWO also has commissioned new works for wind band by composers Donald Grantham and Cindy McTee. In the summer of 2008, the Lone Star Wind Orchestra appointed Eugene Migliaro Corporon as the organization’s first Music Director and Conductor. The Lone Star Wind Orchestra made its way back to San Antonio, Texas as the featured ensemble for the 2010 Texas Bandmasters Association Convention performing for more then 3,000 attendees. The LSWO is in the middle of recording a second album for Naxos Records set to be released by February 2012. Links: |
