Music Changing Lives Scholarships are awarded by the Lone Star Wind Orchestra to provide support for outstanding graduating high school students who plan to pursue a secondary education.  Lone Star is an ardent advocate of life-long musical involvement and its benefits, and believes music can truly change ones’ life.  Lone Star supports that principle and strives to make a difference in the lives of young musicians by way of educational scholarships.

The Alice and Henry Reeves Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the grandparents of Robert Clark, one of the LSWO Co-founders. Their passion, dedication, and love of music is remembered through this annual educational scholarship benefiting area youth.  Alice and Henry’s faith, hope and affection as well as their pioneering spirit and resolve were instrumental in guiding and inspiring generations of musicians.  Alice, (1899 – 2004) continued to play at the age of one hundred two and proved that playing music can keep a person young for life.

2012-2013 Scholarship recipients will be announced at the 2:30 pm LSWO Youth Winds "Angels and Bouquets" performance on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the Eisemann Center in Richardson, TX.
